What A Timeshare Resale Company Needs To Survive

Posted On Thursday, 23 Jun 2011
timeshare resale heartbeatJust like the human body, we all need certain things in order to survive.  Things like food, water, shelter are all necessary to our survival.  The same holds true for a timeshare resale company, without certain necessities these companies could no longer survive as a business.  Today we are going to show you what these necessities are and just how important they are to a timeshare resale company.  Many timeshare owners who have been contacted by a timeshare resale company are unaware of many of the things we are about to uncover.  As always, we are here to educate the general public on the timeshare resale industry and how some of these shady operations are in business. Timeshare Merchant Account Without a merchant account, a timeshare resale company would be unable to process credit cards.  In come cases this can also include electronic checks that their merchant account would also handle.  Not all merchant accounts will process all four major credit cards, which are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.  Some timeshare resale companies have multiple merchant accounts in order to process all four of these major credit cards.  Another reason a timeshare resale company would have multiple merchant accounts is to ... Read More

Free Timeshare Classifieds

Posted On Tuesday, 26 Apr 2011
free timeshare classifiedsFree timeshare classifieds should be the first place a timeshare owner should look to when trying to sell or rent their timeshare property.  Their is no cost to the individual for the exception of the time it takes to place your free ad.  Some classified websites may require a small fee in order to list your advertisement, example being Ebay.  Ebay is pretty much a household name and for that reason one of the first places many people will turn to when trying to get rid of their timeshare resort. I Do Not Know Where To Start This is probably one of the most common excuses people will use, as they either do not know where to begin.  The internet is a very powerful selling tool if used correctly.  Each year more and more companies are spending their marketing dollars online as opposed to the "old school" offline approach with newspaper ads, telephone books, signs, etc. Going digital has been the way for years and people understand just how powerful the internet can be for a sales tool. Craigslist should be your first stop as it is free to post your timeshare property for sale or even an advertisement to rent it out.  ... Read More

Is Buying A Timeshare A Good Investment

Posted On Friday, 08 Apr 2011
timeshare money down the drainIf you are looking to buy a timeshare property as an investment for financial gain, then the simple answer is NO a timeshare is not a good investment.  When purchasing a piece of real estate, like land, a house or commercial property you can expect the value to go up depending on the market.  With timeshare properties you can never expect the selling price to be what you paid for it or to even go higher like with standard real estate. Timeshares Are Not Worth What You Paid As much as it hurts to say this, the amount of money that you paid for your timeshare resort will NEVER be worth it.  It is just like buying a brand new car, as soon as you drive it off of the lot it has already depreciated in value.  With timeshare properties the depreciation is even worse because they hold more baggage then they do financial value.  The timeshare industry is full of hard sales, that is why many of the sales people are good at what they do.  They need to convince you, the potential buyer that the property is a must have.  When that sale is finally made, the buyer is actually ... Read More

Timeshare Resale Boiler Rooms

Posted On Wednesday, 02 Feb 2011
A boiler room is an active place of business where questionable or even shady products or services are sold over the telephone.  The sales people use high pressure sales tactics which are commonly unfair, dishonest or blatant lies to get the sale made.  A sale is made when the person on the other end of the telephone (let's call them a victim) gives up their credit card or banking information to the suspected timeshare boiler room where in MOST (not all) cases they will never hear from that company again.  The main goal for a timeshare boiler room is to make sales and put money on "the board" as quickly and as many times as possible. Office Setup Most timeshare boiler rooms are cramped and very tight, that is why sometimes when you are on the phone with a sales person you can hear others in the background.  Cubicles are placed close to one another to fit as many sales people into the office as possible.  The more sales people, the greater potential the company has of making a bigger profit.  It is a numbers game where the more phone lines and chair space the timeshare company has they are increasing the ... Read More

Timeshare Resale Deferred Payment Scam

Posted On Tuesday, 25 Jan 2011
When you are called by a timeshare resale company, the salesperson always starts out their pitch with the full price of the companies advertising package.  In this example we will use the price of $900 and show you how the deferred payment scam really works and why people fall victim to this tactic that is highly used not only in the timeshare resale industry, but I would say other telemarketing industries (debt relief, mortgage help, etc).  Please note the following is just an example to show you how some timeshare resale companies try to lure you into their trap to get your money. Sales Person Ms. Smith I am glad you understand fully how well our service can work for you in selling/renting your timeshare property.  Would you like for me to put the $900 advertising fee on your credit card today or would you like to use a check by phone? Ms. Smith I cannot afford to pay you $900, that is to much money.  I will have to talk this over with my husband first. Sales Person Not a problem Ms. Smith, let me tell you what I can do for you today to make this easier on your wallet.  We ... Read More

Timeshare Resale Scams

Posted On Monday, 24 Jan 2011
The timeshare resale industry has a lot of "boiler room" companies that are only out for one thing, YOUR MONEY.  They will say just about anything over the telephone for you to earn their trust and hand over your payment information. Some of these timeshare resale companies will stop at nothing just to get your money.  You see, that is how they make their money and they have to keep signing up new customers/victims to keep the cycle going.  We will save that post for another day and break down how people are paid and where the money can possibly go to.  Instead let's focus on what a lot of the timeshare resale scam companies are saying over the telephone. We already have a buyer waiting - This is a very common thing that a timeshare resale telemarketer will use over the phone and highly illegal.  Chances are their is nobody waiting to buy your timeshare, that is just the bait they use on the hook to lure you in with.  You are thinking they are as high profile as they claim to be and will get the job done.  So you hand over your payment information and the scam has been ... Read More
